I've been waiting for Gretchen's story since the moment I met her in the first book featuring the Prescott's. Hats off to Joanne Schwehm for writing something completely different. I found myself furiously reading because I just had to see how everything was going to pan out... Gretchen was everything I wanted her to be and more. She was strong yet sensitive, smart and sassy. A true class act. I think my favorite thing was how Gretchen kept her brothers in line without coming across as needy. But the one thing she did need, was to feel wanted, cherished, loved- because she gave those in her life the same respect. Enter Mason and insert swoon here. This man is a sexy as he was sweet. I was most drawn to his kindness- he was just an all around good guy. And his heart beat for the one thing he knew he shouldn't want.... I loved the lightness and ease of Mason and Gretchen's friendship and watching it progress into something more just made my insides mush. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. But there was a lot at risk, friendships and family were all twisted up and the emotions ran high for both of them. BUT that twist!! Oh boy. I didn't see that big shocker coming in any way, shape or form. My heart was in my throat and I read furiously to find out exactly what would happen. Sigh. When all was said and done I wanted so much more Mason and Gretchen and their unique journey. I hope I'll get to see them again in the next book in this series.
