![]() What would you do if the love of your life doesn’t want the same life you do? Hadley Beckett has failed in not only her career, but as a daughter, friend, and girlfriend. Hadley’s longtime boyfriend, Finn Wilder, who is Richmond, Virginia’s local daredevil and favorite sportscaster, isn’t afraid of anything…almost. Hadley desperately wants a marriage and kids with him, the two things Finn infamously dreads. Finn pressures Hadley into moving in with him, but being traditional, she wants to be married first and she wants to stick to her beliefs, just as he clings to his own. On the other hand, Finn has tolerated Hadley’s stubbornness long enough and he’s reaching his breaking point. Fearing at 33 that she will soon be too old to have kids, Hadley wants Finn to change his mind and marry her, yet her insecurities about his public life and from his constant rebuffs have her questioning her aspirations. With conflicting advice from her friends, Hadley concludes she should take things into her own hands. But then again, Finn Wilder has his own story to tell. Review by Brittany![]() Chasing the Wild Sparks is book one in the Wild Sparks series by Ren Alexander, and it is definitely a great start to a series for this beginning writer. I had heard so much about this series, seeing people raving about it all over Facebook. I finally checked it out, and I was blown away. Hadley Beckett has been dating local sports anchor Finn Wilder for three years now. Finn, it seems, has commitment issues. He won’t introduce her to his friends, he won’t propose to her, and he won’t take her anywhere in public. Hadley, or Becks, as Finn calls her, is getting fed up. Becks and Finn, along her best friends Morgan and Rod, travel on a tumultuous journey to find out where their relationship really stands. After a huge blowout one night, it seems that the end has come for Becks and Finn. Can both of these stubborn adults give a little to each other so they can both get what they want? Like I said earlier, I had heard a lot about this book. Before I had even read it, I had been pimping Ren on my blog, getting her page to reach certain milestones. Now I have a reason to pimp her. The story was fantastic. Full of angst, love, and friendship. Finn and Becks work really well together, and her best friends are hilarious. I know there’s a story behind Gregory Rodwell, and I really hope he gets a book soon. This book kept me on my toes the whole time. I was hoping that at some unforeseen moment, one of them would give in. I can’t tell you if they did or not… that’s for you to find out. Ren also does an amazing job with making this book really steamy, yet really sweet at the same time. My panties were wet at the same time that my cheeks were hurting from smiling at the cuteness. There were some small grammar errors, nothing to major. The only thing that bothered me a lot, was the point of view changes. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love reading in dual points of view. But I absolutely hate having to read the same scene in a different point of view. It’s boring. Really, though, that’s all. This book was fantastic and I’m itching to read the next book, Daring the Wild Sparks. I really want a happily ever after for both people. Five stars from me, Ren! You did a wonderfully amazing job with this first book and I know that some pretty amazing things are going to come from you.
