But I have mixed feelings about Checking You Out. Don't get me wrong, I love me a sweet romance every now and then but I found myself looking for some drama between Norman and Lois as they navigated their budding relationship. I have to commend Ann Whynot for not shying away from things that can be touchy- injury, lost love, sexuality, mental illness...She did it with care and grace that added to my ability to connect with all the characters involved. Compromise was the name of the game. They had both loved and lost and were doing their best to carve out a future they could be proud of. And don't even get me started on the cuteness overload that is Gigi. Lois and Norman's second-chance romance was full of sweetness, found family and just the right touch of nerdy.
