But considering he’s my older brother’s best friend and roommate, I see him more than I’d ever want to. His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are a waste on such an egotistical man, which makes me hate him even more. Even though I’ve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings weren’t mutual and he’s always made that very clear. He’s always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed. I’ve succumbed to his manwhore ways, but that doesn’t change a thing. Because the King is about to get played at his own game—and lose. Checkmate. Review by Lorena This was one delicious, hot, sexy, steamy love/hate relationship that Viola and Travis had going. I loved their on-going games they were playing with each other. This was definitely a roller coaster that had me going up and down with no end in sight. I absolutely loved how Viola wasn't one to show embarrassment and knew how to play the game. Neither one wanted to relent or step down their game, they were relentless! Viola has been in love with Travis since she was 10 years old. He moved in next door and became like her best friend but her brother Drew always knew how to kill the mood since he hated Viola hanging out with them. But on Viola's 13th birthday, she thought that would be the day that Travis was going to declare his love for her, but instead she hears him say thing about her that she will never forget. Viola starts avoiding him like the plague and as they grow older and become adults she hates Travis with a passion. She hates him so much that she knows deep down she still loves him. But Travis is a major manwhore who loves to play the field. He has an issue with commitment and he blames it on his dad for the way he treated his mother. Travis is afraid he'll be just like him so he steers clear of any type of relationship and only allows one-nights stands in his bed. Well when Viola is on spring break and has nowhere to go but to her brother's, she's not thrilled to find out that her brother is going to be away and she's going to be stuck in the house with Travis ALONE! So here is where the games begin (ha!) The constant banter back and forth and their arguing and fighting really had me going. I mean, seriously! I was so hooked on this book that I didn't go to bed until past 2a.m. and I had to be up by 6:30 a.m., so could you imagine what my bloodshot eyes look like right now! But hey, it was so well worth it!! I am speechless at how this book ended. I loved how V and Travis finally realized how they really feel for each other, after all that bickering and fighting they did for a week 1/2. But that ending, oh boy that ending really had me almost screaming because I never saw that ending coming and now I am going to desperately sit and wait for This Is Love to come out because I'm not satisfied with the way this book ended and not satisfied in a good way that is :) This book deserves 5 checked stars especially for leaving me with such a major cliffhanger!
