It was complicated, it was also just the beginning. A decision. A simple choice. There is always that one moment in life where things could have been different. That one moment where you could have chosen a path that would lead you down a certain road. A different life. It was easier to pretend that we were still best friends, and that she was my girl and I was her boy. Pretending was better than knowing the truth... I. Ruined. Us. I had her. I lost her. I love her. All I did was complicate us. Review by Lorena I absolutely love, love M. Robinson. She has such raw emotions when she writes her books. She gives it her all. I have to say that I never thought that M. Robinson's books couldn't get any better than her VIP series but I was so, so wrong. Don't get me wrong, I love Ysa and Sebastian and I never thought any other characters of M. Robinson would ever replace them but again, I was so, so wrong. I have to say that this book sucked the wind right out of me. I loved Alex and Lucas and the boys. They had a bond that was unbreakable and these boys protected her like she was their little sister. But Lucas from the day that they started growing up and knowing what feelings were and felt like, he just got smitten with Alex in a whole different way. He just fell in love with her and even though Alex was younger, she felt it in her core that she loved Lucas in a whole different level than "friend zone". Lucas would always seem to hurt Alex's feelings but they were unintentional. Alex understood that he was older and for some reason she felt it in her that they weren't right for each other and there was always something or someone in the way of them ever acting out on their real feelings for each other as they were getting older. Both parents had a lot to do with them never being able to share their love with each other. They wanted them to experience the world and get to know other people before they decided to settle down and see if they were meant to be together or not. I struggled so much with this story because I saw how much these two individuals struggled in not being able to show the world that they were in love and wanted to be together. They went through so much and suffered throughout this story. My heart felt like it shattered little by little along with Lucas and Alex's hearts. I hurt for them just like they hurt for each other. So many ups and downs, it was an emotional roller coaster for me and I have to say that this has been placed on my top 5 read this year. This book will stay with me for a long time. I have read other books after Complicate Me and for some reason this book is still on my mind. I can't get over how much I loved it!! 5 outstanding stars for this beautiful, damaged, complicated love story!! About the Author Best Selling Author M. Robinson loves to read.
