And his fiancée isn't me. 4 Heart Review by Ashley When this book blogger read the blurb for Confessions of a Bookaholic, I knew this was going to be my first read from Joslyn Westbrook. And it was so dang cute that I stayed up until 2am reading it. I adored Macy. Her spirit. Her wisdom. Her tender heart. Her seemingly unrequited love. How she put her happiness aside for her best friend, Lucas, to have what he wanted. Even if it crushed her. It took one drunken confession for everything to change. I liked that Westbrook didn't make me wait and wait and wait for Lucas and Macy to get together. Rather she spent time on the transition from friendship to romance. The struggles they faced together and individually as they figured out their new dynamic and what the future would hold. That even with their fears, they had a safe place to share them with one another. It was one challenge after another as they navigated new challenges with Lucas' budding career and Macy's desire to have it all. It was almost too predictable how it would go down. But that doesn't mean that I was invested any less. I wanted to see how everything would pan out for Lucas and Macy because they were so obviously meant to be together.
