Has a new evil arrived, or an old terror returned?

Agent Danny O’Rourke only wants one thing. His sister, Aubrey, to come home. He couldn’t save her from being taken, but the least he can do is help her through her turmoil. Except one thing is standing in his way—the Caldwell family. He wants to hate Kat Caldwell the most, but no matter how hard he tries, he doesn’t hate her. He wants her. So badly. When he starts connecting the dots in his latest murder case, all pointing to Kat as the next victim, he’ll do everything in his power to keep her safe. He won’t fail her like he failed his sister. The closer he gets to the truth, the more he realizes he might be all wrong in his assumptions.  He already lost his heart to her, but he won’t lose her to a killer.

3 Star Review by Ashley

Dangerous Memories is my first read from Amanda Siegrist and it was alright. It is toted as a standalone but there were a lot of references to a previous book in the series that I hadn't read. Many of the story lines here played off of and built upon what happened in that book. It had me a bit confused but not so overwhelmed that I couldn't follow the story.

The main characters were my favorite. They definitely had a love-hate relationship happening- at first anyway. I really liked Kat. She was kind and fearless. She didn't back down but she knew how to forgive. It was a delicate balance especially where Danny was concerned. I liked how torn Danny was about his feelings for Kat- through the whole book. He wanted to dislike her but in the same breath wanted to hold her and kiss her senseless.

When the links between two cases are too close for comfort, Danny's protective side comes out. Part of it was guilt over what happened with his sister and part of it was his job and part of it was knowing he'd be slayed if something happened to Kat. I liked seeing him work with Logan (Kat's brother) to sort through the mess that was getting bigger as time went on. Especially when the danger lands right at Kat's feet.

Amanda Siegrist had me guessing until the big reveal. And the way it unfolded gave me the big eyes and dropped jaw. I loved seeing both Kat's strong and Danny's vulnerable side come out in the aftermath of how things went down. But I think what would've made this book even better was if there was more just Kat and Danny and less of all the other players involved.

About the Author

I love anything that has to do with romance. As long as there’s a happy ending, I’m a happy camper. I love baseball (Go Twins!) and creating awesome crafts. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, working in that field for several years before I became a stay-at-home mom. When I’m not hanging out with my wonderful family, I’m writing a sweet contemporary romance or a romantic suspense that keeps you guessing until the end. I have a few more amazing stories in the works.
