Not all fantasies are safe, sane, and consensual. Welcome to the world of The Gallery…

Juliet meets Fort St. Clair on a miserable, drunken night, and wakes up the next morning cuffed to his guest room bed. Of course, Fort would never take advantage of her. No, the pleasure and pain he wants to inflict on her body must be negotiated in advance, because once Juliet sets foot in his private, exclusive dungeon, she belongs to him.

BDSM at The Gallery is supposed to be a straightforward arrangement, an affair by the rules, but Juliet and Fort’s growing connection brings unexpected emotions they can’t control. She’s the free spirit who transforms his rigid world, and he’s the Dominant she can finally trust—or can she?

Fort St. Clair is your usual book boyfriend. Wealthy, handsome, and troubling. Juliet Pope is your usual main character, not poor, but not rich, beautiful, and also troubling.

So imagine what happens when Fort finds Juliet wasted outside a BDSM club. He takes her back to his house, but only because he thought she said that she lived there. And because he feels some strange connection between them.

Fort is a sadist. Juliet just likes stick-and-tickle BDSM. Can they share a night (or more!) together without getting feelings involved?

I enjoyed this book. I enjoy Annabel Joseph’s writing, because I love dark erotica, and that’s exactly what Dark Control is. There are no instances of rape, but a trigger warning may be necessary as there is some painful acts that occur in this book.

Annabel really was able to create a story throughout the erotica portions of this book. I was rooting for the characters the whole time, hoping that Fort would get his head out of his butt and not damage Juliet any further. Especially because number one rule at the Gallery, the exclusive BDSM club he frequents, is do not f*** with the vulnerable, and that’s exactly what Juliet is.

I have to give this book four stars. It was a great read and I couldn’t put it down. I also felt myself in the story, really being able to envision the scenes as she wrote them. Her description writing is spot on. And while reading this book I remembered a BDSM scene that I had been a part of that I had completely forgotten about, and I can’t believe that I had forgotten about it.
