Darkest Hour by Delaney Foster
She was a beloved princess.
I was a heartless bastard.
I was supposed to save her.
I wanted to ruin her.
My need for her was sick. Twisted.
It came from a dark and dangerous place.
But I wasn’t the only one with sadistic desires.
The Brotherhood had plans of its own- a game they wanted to play.
They wanted to break me, break her, break us.
I dared them to try.
This is not a love story.
You've been warned.
This is a dark secret society romance with possible triggers. PLEASE SEE CONTENT WARNING.
Darkest Hour is book three in The Obsidian Brotherhood series. While all books may be read as standalones, there is an interconnecting storyline. It is highly recommended you read them in order.
5 Heart Review by Lorena
With each book in the series I keep falling in love with each male character more and more.
Each one is so different, yet they all come from some screwed up families and they all have a story to tell.
Chandler Carmichael has always harbored great hatred for his parents for what he endured as a teenager and his parents never were there to do anything about what was going on behind closed doors and just turned a blind eye. His mother always saw him with disdain and he could never figure out why but he would soon find out the story of his life and why. Everything does happen for a reason and his life isn't any better than the rest of the young brotherhood's that will take over or are supposed to take over this, this cult or whatever the heck it is. The only difference is that the older brotherhood are sick and twisted human beings while the younger ones may not be knights in shining armor but they are out to do better deeds than what their fathers were out there doing.
Chandler takes Anniston as collateral to get what he wants from the king but it seemed like the king wasn't really interested in saving his daughter, he's more interested in doing depraved and sinister stuff out there with the rest of the psycho's (older brotherhoods). So as Chandler tries to keep away from Anniston he starts to realize that he and her aren't that much different, these kids all come from damaged backgrounds and he starts realizing that she's definitely the sun to his moon. The man with a dead black heart who starts awakening and turning red.
I loved the chemistry between Chandler and Anniston. I loved how she wouldn't tolerate his intolerance and she would put her foot down and when she wanted answers she demanded them and expected them. She was the light to his fire.
This series has been nothing but FIRE! I was consumed from book 1 through book 3 and these guys have my heart beating double time!
