He’s a broken man, except you’d never know it. She’s a star trying to make her way to the top. A typhoon brings them together, but will their romance survive an unexpected storm of danger that is heading their way?

Jesse Ryder lost his dad, his hero when he was still a kid.  Instead, of dealing with his loss and his past, he paved his way to a better future. Now, he stands upon the precipice of an empire. He doesn’t need anyone or anything, or so he thought.

Vanessa Tourney is a pop music princess. She has it all, yet her life is missing something. She trusts everyone until she meets Jesse, and her world is flipped upside down.

Their whirlwind romance is cut short and then re-ignited, only to be overshadowed by an unforeseen enemy lurking in the shadows. Can a monster be stopped from doing the unthinkable, or will a foe catch up to them faster than they thought?

3 Star Review by Ashley

Determination is my first read for S.E. Rose and it was a bit of a mixed bag for me. There were a few references to events that happened in the earlier books that I was oblivious to. That didn't really bother me except that it was the same bad guy causing problems in this one and I was missing some of the connections.

That being said I like Vanessa and Jesse. They were both independently successful and lonely. It was a random twist of mother nature that they met, but from the first look, there was no denying their attraction. I enjoyed how hard and fast they fell. And as the danger around Jesse mounted, how he vowed to keep her safe, no matter the cost.

As the pieces of the puzzle started to work themselves out, and more players got involved, the danger only grew. And that was my favorite aspect of this story- the suspense. It kept me guessing what was going to happen next.

Around the world and back again, Jesse and Vanessa's story was nothing short of a dangerous adventure. At times, I found there was a lot of repetitiveness in both characters thoughts and words. And, if I'm being completely honest, there was too much sex too. Shocking, I know but that's my opinion. Overall, this book was ok. I feel that if had read the other books in the series first, things would've clicked a bit more for me while reading Determination.
