A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.

There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she’s smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She’s learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.

But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.

A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.

She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.

With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.

One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.

*a modern love story inspired by Pride and Prejudice*

This was definitely a five star read for me. Ilsa's books always grasp my attention instantly. First, her covers are what catches my eye and with Dirty English I just couldn't wait to read it especially when I saw such a gorgeous man on the cover even though his face is not visible. These types of covers always gravitate me towards wanting to read even without reading the synopsis.

Dirty English is about a guy who is from London and was brought to the US to live with his father. Declan fights in illegal fights and his dream is to open his own gym. His father is against his dreams and wishes that Declan majors in law but that's not what Declan wants. Declan has a twin brother, Dax who is a little more easy going, loves to party and still manages to get great grades. But Dax seems to be doing what his father wants out of him and he's the more easy going of the two. They definitely live well off but Declan doesn't seem to care for all of that.

Elizabeth Bennett has definitely lived a pretty rough life. She has a mother who doesn't care what happens to her, all she cares about is herself and jumping from guy to guy. Elizabeth went through a hard time when something unexpected happened to her and it's not like she was asking for it, but nevertheless it happened and she can't do anything about it since she's considered white trash really. She has to live with this and she has vowed to never trust another guy again. She just uses guys for one night stands and she plans on keeping it that way.

But when Declan comes barreling in Elizabeth's life it seems like her walls start crumbling down. As much as she fights against her feelings for him she just can't. She wants him for just one night but the question is, can she have him for just one night?

Declan wants more with Elizabeth, he can't accept to just have her for one night and he refuses to give her that unless she gives him herself completely. They both end up sexually frustrated but neither one seems to relent.

Can Elizabeth move on from her past and accept Declan wholeheartedly or will she lose him because she can't seem to forget what happened to her years ago?

Can Declan just accept the one night stand that Elizabeth is offering or will he walk away from her? Can they work out their issues?

This book was definitely one of my best reads, it really captivated me and I really think this was worth reading. Declan really was swoon worthy with his English accent. One thing that really makes me hot is an accent. I may not be able to hear it but reading it, I can definitely picture a husky voice with that accent (total yummy)!

Ms. Madden-Mills definitely delivered with this book!
