Picture
Célian Laurent.
Manhattan royalty.

Notorious playboy.

Heir to a media empire.

…And my new boss.

I could have impressed him, if not for last month’s unforgettable one-night stand.
I left it with more than orgasms and a pleasant memory—namely, his wallet.
Now he’s staring me down like I’m the dirt under his Italian loafers, and I’m supposed to take it.
But the thing about being Judith “Jude” Humphry is I have nothing to lose.
Brooklyn girl.
Infamously quirky.
Heir to a stack of medical bills and a tattered couch.
When he looks at me from across the room, I see the glint in his eyes, and that makes us rivals.
He knows it.
So do I.
Every day in the newsroom is a battle.
Every night in his bed, war.
But it’s my heart at stake, and I fear I’ll be raising the white flag.

5 Star Review by Lorena

Hot Damn this book deserves 10 stars!

Celian is just one of those delicious looking, mouthwatering specimens that you just want to attack the moment you lay eyes on.  When Judith a/k/a Jude gets a lucky one nighter with this sexy man, she doesn't think anything will eventually be more than just one night.  But her luck has it that when she finally lands a job, after all the bad luck she's been having, including a cheating boyfriend, who she instantly leaves because who wants a cheating boyfriend right!  Her one nighter is with none other than this sexy beast who, by the way, lied to her about living in another country.  He used his French accent to lure her to bed and it freaking worked.

The scenes between Celian and Jude were just so damn hot that they made you want to shrivel up as you read them.  He's got the hottest, most dirtiest mouth I've read in a while and Jude, she's so sassy and full of spunk.  I loved both these characters so much, I don't think I've loved such characters with these types of personalities in a while.
They made me laugh at times and swoon at others.  For as much as a big bad ass as Celian was, he sure knew how to talk a good talk and walk a good walk.  He is everything a woman would love in a man that's for sure!
LJ Shen can't do no wrong with any of her characters.  She knows how to really swoon a girl out!

4.5 Star Review by Ashley

Yum. That's the first word that comes to my mind when I think about Dirty Headlines. And not just because of Célian (though he was delightfully dirty). L.J. Shen wrote two extremely intelligent characters who came from vastly different worlds and collided in what can only be called kismet. This wasn't your typical office romance. Nor was it the rich guy falls for the poor girl.

From the start I knew I would like Jude. She was nothing if not determined. Headstrong. Resilient. Fearless. And somehow unable to say "no" to Célian, her new boss. My oh my that man had me, and more importantly, Jude all over the place. He was demanding and arrogant but also so lost. And hopelessly addicted to Jude. Her goodness and honesty called to him on a level he couldn't escape. Thank goodness he finally stopped trying. I loved seeing him soften, let his walls down and Jude in.

Hot, hot HOT!! The chemistry between these two seared the pages. But there was so much more to them than the sex. They were both so driven to succeed in their career but their personal lives were a mess. Yet somehow when they were together, everything else fell away and all was right in the world. Until it wasn't...

Geez, the twists and manipulation had my head spinning. The stakes are high when you're at the top of your game and Célian learned the hard way just who he could trust. Rest assured, Jude was always on that short list. And when he finally realized it, it was game over for him. I loved seeing him stunned stupid and scrambling to get his woman.

Sigh, swoon, scowl, sweat and swoon again. L.J. Shen gave me an office romance for the ages. Dirty Headlines was so smartly written that I couldn't put it down. The banter, the angst, the Chucks, all the feels. Jude and Célian's journey was full of ups and downs and a few sideways skids but that ending made it all worth it.

About the Author

Picture
L.J. Shen is an International #1 best-selling author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She lives in Northern California with her husband, young son and chubby cat.

Before she’d settled down, L.J. (who thinks referring to herself in the third person is really silly, by the way) traveled the world, and collected friends from all across the globe. Friends who’d be happy to report that she is a rubbish companion, always forgets people's’ birthdays and never sends Christmas cards.

She enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her family and friends, reading, HBO, Netflix and internet-stalking Stephen James. She reads between three to five books a week and firmly believes Crocs shoes and mullets should be outlawed.
