I’m Dr. Nick Raines.
Brain surgeon and notorious over-thinker, I take the analytical approach with everything, until I can determine the best, carefully calculated plan of action. It’s no shock the producers of the popular reality series The Doctor Is In have decided to call me Dr. Neurotic.

Besides my more than full-time job as Chief of Neurosurgery at St. Luke’s Hospital, I’m a single dad and my number one priority is my daughter.

But life had plans to add another priority to my list.

Charlotte Hollis. Outspoken, impulsive, and beautiful, she’s everything I didn’t know I was craving.

She makes me wonder What if?

What if I don’t have to be alone for the rest of my life to give my little girl the father she deserves?

It's a battle--my battle: Head vs. Heart.

4 Star Review by Ashley

What can't the writing duo that is Max Monroe do? For serious! Every book they turn out just makes me want to know who they are more and more. And Dr. Neuro, by far my favorite of the St. Luke's Docuseries novels. I was shocked by that because I went into this not liking the hero (you see Nick makes a not so pleasant name for himself in the Billionaire Bad Boys series- which you don't have to read to follow this book).

But redemption is the name of the game for Nick in this book. It took one fiery and fiercely independent woman for him to see something more for himself. Oh how I adored Charlotte. She is bold and fearless and goes after what she wants without reservation. From the first moment these two met, I knew something special was brewing. She literally drug him out of his comfort zone and he loved every awkward moment of it.

But both of these characters have a past and it comes back to bite them in the most unexpected and harsh way. Oh how my heart just ached for both of them. They were so happy, so perfect together, so ready to take the next step. Their misery translated over into every part of their lives. Thank goodness for Winnie and her capacity to forgive because she was the unexpected ally that neither side knew they had.

I've gotta say Dr. Neuro combined everything I've come to adore and love from Max Monroe's writing and took it to another level. There was romance and a hair of drama, enough humor to keep it from getting too heavy and plenty of steamy bits. Oh, and a little girl who stole the show with her straight forward sweetness. I absolutely devoured this book and I want this gang to be real so we can hit up trivia night!
