I once met a man on a cold Halloween night. He dressed as a superhero, and I dressed in red. For one night, I was his break from reality, and he was the temporary fix for my broken heart.

Two years later, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to become a senior editor at one of the biggest magazine companies in the world. The only catch? Nail an exclusive interview with New York’s finest bachelor: Connor Roe.

To the rest of the world he was becoming one of the wealthiest men in New York City. To me, he was simply my once upon a time superhero.

My job was to get an exclusive interview with New York’s hottest bachelor. Never in my life did I expect him to want an exclusive with my heart, too.

The only problem with my growing feelings for him? I was set to marry his new business partner.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

I always feel like I need a hug and to crawl into a ball under a cozy blanket after finishing a book by Brittainy Cherry. And Eastern Lights was no exception. From the first page I knew my heart was going to be put through it, and I was so right.

I absolutely loved Connor and Aaliyah. The first time they met was fun and playful and I loved the whirlwind of how they showed the best parts of themselves to each other. Their connection, though not physical, was strong and deep and shifted something inside of them. That magical night shaped them, motivated them, changed them. They decided to let fate work her magic and if they were to meet again outside of that night, they would....

Flash forward a few years and things have changed a bit but not much. Connor still works too much in pursuit of his dream project. Aaliyah thinks she found someone that truly loves her. And in the most unexpected twist, they find each other again. Too bad the timing is all wrong. Too bad it is Aaliyah and her tender heart that end up getting hurt again.

Thank goodness Connor is there to help pick up the pieces. To make her see her value and worth. To let her know that she is worthy of all the love. Too bad they were living in reality and not a dream. Because real problems kept hitting them from all sides. Most of them centering around Jason.

Stupid freaking Jason! He is the worst...like gum on your shoe. You think you've got it all but nope there is still that little bit that won't come off. And it was his parting shot to Connor that changed things again. Brought all of this biggest fears right up to the surface and sent him running.

Goodness- my chest ached. Every time Brittainy Cherry healed it, she just smashed it to bits again. There was pain and passion, purpose and promise and I got misty eyed more than once. For as heart wrenching as Aaliyah and Connor's epic slow-burning second-chance romance was, it was also tender and came from the purest parts of their hearts and left me wanting more.
