This fight club has one rule: you must be a veteran…

Resisting her only makes him want her more...

Private investigator Billy Parrish is good at three things—fighting, investigating, and sex. MMA training with the other vets in the Warrior Fight Club keeps his war-borne demons at bay—mostly, and one night stands ensure no one gets too close. But then his best friend from the Army Rangers calls in a favor.

Shayna Curtis is new to town, fresh out of grad school, and full of hope for the future. With a new job starting in a month, she’s grateful when her brother arranges a place for her to stay while she apartment hunts. But she never expected her roommate to be so brooding. Or so sexy.

Billy can’t wait for Shay to leave—because the longer she’s there, the more he wants her in his bed. To stay. He can’t have her—that much he knows. But when fight club stops taking off the edge, Billy lets down his guard…and starts fighting for what’s his.

4 Star Review by Ashley

Alright, I admit it, I didn't read the first book in this series before picking up Fighting for What's His (hangs head). And now I'm kicking myself because Laura Kaye had me from the first page.

I knew I was in for it with Rayna. Sheesh that woman (yes woman) was so charming and sarcastic and intelligent and kind and driven that I couldn't help but root for her. Especially where Billy was concerned. Billy, her decade long crush that never saw her as more than his best friends little sister. Until he didn't...

I liked that Billy was a bit bent, not broken. Yes he had his scars. Some he literally wore and others ran much deeper. He was stuck and Rayna's warmth and chaos oh so slowly broke him out of his funk. Holy sexual tension. It was building and simmering from the start. But these roommates were so much more than their chemistry. They saw each other. Understood the pain and guilt that each harbored. And didn't know what to do with their feelings.

All it took was a little bit of a disaster to put things into perspective. Thank goodness. I will say that for as heavy as some of the topics Laura Kaye touched on were, there was also a hearty dose of humor. Those nicknames- priceless. And that ending swoon city. It was so perfectly Billy and Rayna. I'm wholeheartedly looking forward to more of these warriors.
