Lea Lamb and Austin Wolf were young when they fell in love. They never imagined the future could hold anything other than together-forever.

When Lea’s father dies in a tragic fishing accident, she's crushed under the weight of her grief and catches a glimpse of another type of future, one she knows she's not strong enough to face.

Austin is angry. For the past fifteen years, he's believed the woman he loved with every ounce of his soul left him without so much as a backwards glance.

When Lea unexpectedly returns to their hometown, all the years of heartache inside Austin bubbles to the surface and presents itself as blinding rage.

Faced with the truth about the past, a newly discovered secret, these former lovers will learn that if they want to have any chance at the future they’d given up on all those years ago, they will have to rescue one another from drowning in pain so debilitating it will leave them both fighting to breathe

This is such a sweet story, if you liked Aurora Rose Reynolds' other books then you'll enjoy this one. It is unrelated to her other series', it's a stand alone with a spin-off book coming in 2016.

Lea and Austin were high school sweethearts with plans to get married straight after graduation, but when her fisherman father dies at sea she leaves her small Alaska town and her one true love. Austin is planning to be a fisherman also, it's all he's ever wanted to be and Lea's worry that he's heading towards the same fate as her father sends her running.

Fifteen years later Lea is back in town to care for her mother who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. And with it being such a small town it's not long before she runs into Austin..

Will Lea be able to put her fears to rest and land the man of her dreams or is there no such thing as second time around?

I loved this book - in fact I love everything that Aurora Rose Reynolds puts out.  The story is filled with such heart and so emotional, that it is  impossible not to be drawn in.  I really felt the pain of the two main characters as a palpable thing and I  hurt reading about what they put one another through.

The character of Austin is typical of Aurora Rose Reynolds alpha's - full of male pride and machismo!  I just loved him.  Blonde, bearded and a fisherman - what more could you want?  He is also gentle and loving - the perfect contrast.

Lea is someone that is afraid of being alone - as things start crumbling down around her and she is faced with her own mortality, she struggles with fear of being alone and losing everyone she loves.  I loved this fragility we see of her because Aurora paints her as quite a strong heroine.

This book was brilliant - I loved every aspect and nuance.  I enjoyed seeing Austin and Lea as teenagers and then experiencing their new dynamic as adults.  This is another amazing 5 star read from me!  Aurora Rose Reynolds NEVER DISAPPOINTS!
