Writing thrillers is the name of the game. Usually, the storylines come easily, but my latest book is uninspired. Needing a change of scenery, I do something I promised myself I wouldn’t; I go to Grind Time, perching myself in front of the hottest distraction in Bluebell Falls, the mononymous Oakley.

When I overhear some juicy details about his mysterious past, I decide the distracting man may be the key to ending my writer’s block and finishing this book.

To my surprise, my books have come to life, and I can’t help but wonder if this thrilling adventure is more than I bargained for.

Leaving the only job I ever wanted wasn’t something I did lightly, but when you’ve seen what I have, it feels like the only choice. Now, I’m serving coffee and paninis to the residents of
Bluebell Falls, with one in particular always on my mind.

Ever since Grind Time’s opening week, Willow Hutton has avoided me, but all of that changes when she walks through the doors and overhears parts of my previous life that I wanted to keep hidden.

When my past comes back with a vengeance, maybe this time, with a little help, I’ll finally slay my demons and my last case will be left behind for good.

Can they survive the darkness together, or will their fresh start be over before it truly begins in Bluebell Falls?

Small town romantic suspense? Yes please and thank you. I will say that it did take me a few chapters to get into For the Thrill of It but once things started rolling they kept right on.

I really liked Oakely. He was kind and thoughtful. Starting over after his high stress job left him burnt out and ready for something new. What he didn't expect to find in his new small town was Willow. The author with a major case of writer's block. Until she overheard something that sparked an idea that wouldn't let go.

It didn't hurt that Oakley agreed to be a sounding board. And somewhere between the inspiration and coffees and meals they realized there was so much more between them. If only his past would let him move on.

It was a race against time and a madman as Oakley and his old team tried to get one step ahead. My heart was pumping as everything played out in seemingly slow motion. Talk about intense. And while I would've enjoyed getting a glimpse of things in the aftermath of all the mayhem, I'll just have to see what Samantha M. Thomas has in store as the series moves forward.

About the Author

A stay-at-home mom for going on five years, she was used to working. With her daughter gearing up to go to school, she needed to find a new path in life. Going back to corporate America didn't appeal so she leaned into her love of reading. 


One drunken girl's trip with her best friend later, an author was born. She took the encouragement of her best friend and husband and dived in head first.
