For as long as I can remember, I’ve been in love with Chris.
I was never old enough or brave enough to act on it.
He never saw me like anything more than his best friend’s little sister.
So, when he falls in love with my best friend, I smile and try to move on.
Only I never thought I would lose them both.

***

One tragic night.
One day leaving me wondering what my future holds.
One event that has me seeing Salomé under a different light.
She’s the only one who can understand what I’m going through.
She’s also the only one who can soothe my pain.
I need her to survive. But I certainly shouldn’t take advantage of it.
A brother’s best friend novel like no other.

4 Heart Review by Lorena

Whenever I read in a blurb that it's forbidden or taboo, I ALWAYS give it a go because that's my jam right there.

Forsaken was very messy and complicated, best friend's little sister with the forbidden fruit being almost 10 years older and the oldest brother's best friend.  But we have to realize that all families have issues and problems and no one is perfect.  Without these complications the book would be boring and lack so much emotion that we certainly need in order to understand the dynamic of the love story.

Yes Forsaken had many issues, lots of messed up situations that made me mad because the last thing I wanted was for it to turn out the way it did.  But again, messy situations, calls for messy love stories.  Tragedies that bring people closer and make you realize what it is that you really want in life and who you want.  Yeah it took forever for the main male character to pull his head out of his butt and realize who he was meant to be with.

Overall I really did like this book with all the messy complications it came with, I plan to go back to book 1 because I really do want to read the whole series when its complete because I really like the whole family dynamic and how close-knit they are.

About the Author

Picture
Gabrielle G will do anything for a hot cup of tea, still celebrates her half birthdays and feels everyone has an inner temptuous voice.

Born in France and having lived in Switzerland, Gabrielle currently resides in Montreal with her husband, three devilish children and an extremely moody cat.

After spending years contemplating a career in writing, she finally jumped off the deep end and took the plunge into the literary world. Writing consumed her and she independently published her work.

Gabrielle's style is fiercely raw and driven by pure emotion. Her love stories leave you out of breath, yearning for more, while at the same time wiping away tears.
