Neala Clarke is a woman of her word, when she gives you it, expect her to deliver. Neala gave her niece Charli her word that she would get her a doll for Christmas. Never mind that there is only one week until Christmas and everywhere that stocked toys is practically sold out. Neala gave her word that she would get that doll for Charli, so she will move mountains to make it happen.

Darcy Hart is a people pleaser, when he is asked last minute for a doll by his adorable six year old nephew Dustin, he of course, says yes. However, Darcy faces a dilemma, the particular doll he needs is sold out everywhere. Darcy makes one last attempt to get the doll at a local toy store, and finds out they have only one left in stock, but he also finds out he is not the only person interested in claiming the doll.

Neala and Darcy go way back, playing in each other’s play pens kind of way back. They are not friends, more like mortal enemies, and both of them wanting a single doll was the start of a series of events that no one could have predicted, not even Father Christmas himself.

Neala and Darcy were once best of friends, this all changed at Darcy's 6th birthday when another boy proclaimed his love for Neala.  The aftermath of this was (almost) 20 years of pranks, fights and what seemed to be pure hatred between the two.... However, we all know the line between love and hate is fine.

Forced to endure each other as their two families are close - the two do what they can to avoid each other, as whenever they are near, fireworks erupt.  This is difficult to do when the families do just about everything together as one.  Dinners, birthdays, special occasions, Christmas, New Years - all spent together, and all with Darcy and Neala at each other's throats.

As Christmas fast approaches, Neala realises that she still hasn't got the most important gift - the one that her niece has been asking for.  She makes it to the store on Christmas eve and is met with Darcy vying for the same toy.  Hilarity ensues as the two fight one another in a bid to each get the toy.

After many back and forth shenanigans between the two to get the toy away from each other, Neala and Darcy find themselves trapped in Darcy's house under a pile of snow.  This forces the two to be alone and also makes them talk to one another for the first time in ages.

Initially the two are at each other's throats, but as it becomes abundantly clear that they are trapped together, at least for the short term, a sort of truce is called.  They are alone, snowed in, with no power or heat - and soon it becomes clear that if they are to stay warm they are going to need each other.

A  night of blissful happiness is ruined when they are "rescued" by their brothers and Darcy makes the mistake of playing things between he and Neala down.  Unfortunately for Darcy, Neala overhears and storms off heartbroken and devastated.

It also transpires that the families have interfered in getting these two the alone time they so desperately needed, and this hurts Neala even further.  She distances herself not only from Darcy but also her entire family.  With New Year just around the corner, will there be a chance for things to be smoothed out between everyone or will Neala start her new chapter alone?

The story is fast paced, hilarious but also will leave you swooning.  I loved Darcy and Neala's story - the things those two tortured each other with, were down right hilarious.

"Let go of the doll, and I'll let go of your nipples." Wow.  There was a sentence I never thought I'd hear myself say." - Frozen, L.A. Casey

We also got to see the softer side of the two when they were alone together, and that was really sweet and at time steamy.  I am giving frozen 4 stars - a lovely, light holiday read that will have you roaring with laughter.
