Give Me a Reason by A.L. Jackson

Eden Murphy came into my club looking to make some extra cash.
A girl like her didn't belong in a place like this.
She'd get ripped to shreds.
Most likely by me.
There's nothing but sweetness dripping from her sexy little body, and I'm the monster who's salivating to get a taste.

Trent Lawson is the last man I should want.
Dark.
Dangerous.
So wickedly gorgeous he makes my knees weak.
He's also an arrogant jerk who happens to be my new boss.
When I discover his adorable son is also in my kindergarten class, I know I have to keep my distance.

But neither of us can ignore the attraction that flames.
One glance, and our hearts race.
One touch, and we’re aching for what we can’t have.
One night, and we’re falling fast.

Dragging her into my sordid world is wrong.
It doesn’t matter.
Eden Murphy is mine.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

Talk about kicking a series off with a bang. WHEW!! From the dramatic opening, Give Me a Reason had me hooked and hanging on every word as Eden and Trent's unlikely romance unfolded. And don't even get me started on sweet little Gage. That boy...just yeah...

I LOVED Eden. She may've been reserved but she did not back down from a challenge. And the biggest challenge...Trent Lawson, her new boss. Broody to the point of hostile. But underneath that brash exterior was a man who already lost so much and just wanted to keep those he loved safe.

These two couldn't be more opposite if they tried. Time and again Trent tried to shove their differences in her face. Too bad Eden wouldn't be deterred. She saw his fears and strengths and faults and they only proved that he was exactly who and what she wanted. But when an unknown threat sprung up and put Eden in its cross hairs, all of his excuses for them not being together went right out the window. I LOVED seeing his protective side come out in full force.

I will say, I guessed one of the big twists rather early on but the other one slapped me in the face. I was holding my breath as those tense moments played out. And holy geez I didn't not see that ending coming at all. From start to finish Eden and Trent's opposites attract romance was thrilling and sexy. Dangerous and at the same time tender. And I absolutely can not wait to see what is in store for these Lawson men as the series moves forward.
