![]() When artist Corinne Zabriese’s fiancé died, he took her innocence with him. Tired of feeling as fragile as everyone thinks she is, Corinne opens a gallery determined to wrangle her highly sensitive nature and find the strength to go after what she wants. And what she wants is the lava-hot British thrill seeker and Tantric masseuse who wanders into the debris of her shattered heart. Wealthy world traveler Vance Banford is fiercely sexy, charming … and captivated by the ray of sunlight that is Corinne. Having sworn off committed relationships thanks to the twisted history that follows him, he draws Corinne in as a business associate who quickly becomes a friend. That way, she’ll brighten his life without suffering the trauma of his past and the risks of his present. Vance is willing to do anything for Corinne to make her future as beautiful as her painted glass—anything but admit she owns what’s left of his shard-riddled heart. Frustrated over how Vance keeps her in the friend zone despite showering her with attention, Corinne fights to cause an eruption of the volcanic chemistry bubbling between them. Surely, a man familiar with the Kamasutra has a breaking point! Unless … well, maybe she isn’t enough for him. When Vance realizes holding Corinne at arm’s length has her questioning her self-worth, he panics, impulsively igniting a desperate need for each other that unleashes heartbreak, his secret pain, and a need for Corinne to become stronger than she could ever imagine. **Glass Hearts is the first book in the second Awaken My Heart: Corinne & Vance subseries.** 3.5 Heart Review by Ashley Well when I saw the blurb for Glass Hearts I wasn't expecting all that unfolded. Danica Raimz took me on a ride around the world and back again. This book was dark and artsy and brought out my emotions in full force. I really like Corinne. She was brave and determined to get her feet under her. It helped that she had a big, boisterous, sometimes meddling but always supportive family on her side. And when handsome, do gooder Vance strolls into her gallery it was as if the stars aligned. Neither of them could deny the pull. Even with as much as Vance tried to push Corinne away for her own good, she wasn't backing down from what she wanted. She pushed and pushed hard until Vance surrendered. Cue the heat. But what was more than the steam was their connection through it all. The things that they shared about their pasts were hard, painful and it only strengthened their bond. But their happiness didn't last long. Oh no, on what should have been a short and simple work trip, things got out of hand rather quickly. A dangerous plot with Vance at the center of it and Corinne caught in the crossfire. Talk about intense! Pulse pounding. I had no idea which way things were going to play out and my heart was in my throat more than once as things unfolded and fell apart. Did I feel that some things took up a bit too much time, that there was more detail given than needed...yes. Did it detract from the feel of the book as a whole, not at all. Do I wish that there was more of a finite ending to Glass Hearts, yes. But at the same time no. I like that Corinne and Vance's story is still unfolding, that they are still growing and navigating their relationship. And there are still a lot of unknowns floating about. Fingers crossed that the next adventure Danica Raimz takes Vance and Corinne on will be just as hot but a bit safer. About the Author ![]() Danica Raimz writes romance that celebrates a selfless, yet steamy sort of love. If she could, she would live in upstate New York with a cat named Magic, a Golden named Daystar, the time to leisurely chomp through far more books on her TBR list, and the finances to travel whenever and wherever she wants. In the meantime, she’ll just keep wrestling with the keyboard and fate to get there.
