***STANDALONE NOVEL***

Dane Prescott spends his days staring at perfect holes, and knows how to use his stiff shaft to get there. He’s as hot as he is good at the sport he loves more than breathing.

Dane has one goal and one goal only, to be on the professional golf tour. It’s who he is and what he lives for. Women, although fun, aren't in his long-term plans.

Beverly Whitfield didn’t start off as the confident woman she is today. Teased mercilessly as a child and always feeling second-best, she set out to change her future and is finally putting herself first. Never in her wildest imagination did she think she’d fall for a man with stunning good looks and sex seeping from his pores. And, oh yeah, he plays golf.

To those who say golf is complicated and frustrating, Dane says, “No, that’s love.”

**Intended for readers over the age of 18**

4.5 Star Review by Ashley

I was intrigued by Dane when I first met him in Incumbent so I was very anxious to jump into his story. Now, if you're like me, you see golf and think- yawn, boring. WRONG!! While reading Gripped, Joanne Schwehm made me laugh, swoon and want to take a golf lesson!

Dane is the ultimate man child. He has no time in his life for relationships or love. His is solely focused on one thing, going pro. I loved his honesty and how fiercely he loves his family. He's making all the right moves- both on and off the green- and schmoozing when he needs to. At one of those fancy, not at all him but necessary events he meets Beverly. Oh how I loved her from the moment she graced the pages of this book. She is classy and just a touch sassy. In a sea of black she is crimson and Dane likes what he's sees, a lot. The chemistry is there from the first meeting and as much as they may want to, they can't ignore it.

Bev has a heart of gold that Dane couldn't help but fall for. So much so that he introduced her to his family! Those Prescott's welcomed Bev with open arms and minds. The friendship between Lucy, Gretchen and Bev is something she had been missing her whole life and it made me so happy that Dane gave that to her. And when her world started to crumble they were the ones who helped her put it back together again.

Gripped captured my heart with its honesty. I feel I've already said too much but there is so much more to this book than golf. It's about family. Following your dreams. Being true to who you are and who you want to be. It's about learning to love who you are. Following your heart even when it takes you somewhere unexpected. Being the best version of yourself even when life gets in the way. Joanne Schwehm delivered on all fronts with this book and I am wholeheartedly looking forward to more from the Prescott clan (soon please).

4.5 Star Review by Lorena

This is the first book I read from this author and I am amazed at how much I loved it!

I've read books just about every sport and this is the first one I read on golf and even though I know nothing about golf, I was intrigued with this sexy golfer!

Dane - A golfer playboy who never wants to know the woman's name that he sleeps with.  He knows he'll never see her again so why bother with names right!

Beverly - A woman with insecurities who isn't looking for love, she just wants to move to Virginia and continue with her teaching and just focus on that, until Dane comes barreling into her life and changes the course and changes everything on her.

Don't get me wrong, Dane sure had to work hard to prove to Beverly that she was much more than just a one night stand.  He was doing everything completely different with her, things he's never done for any other woman in his life.  This is when Dane realizes that Beverly is not like the rest of the girls he beds almost daily.

Gripped really took a hold of me.  I was sad, I was happy and it sure made me want to cry sometimes.  For as much as these two were going through, it tugged my heart.  I rooted for Dane throughout the whole book and I knew he changed the moment he laid eyes on Beverly.  He would take her even if she looked like an ogre, that's how much he loved this woman in the end.

Totally a sweet, yet gripping love story that left me sated with the beautiful ending to this magnificent book!

Well done Ms. Schwehm, I need more of these Prescott family and can't wait for Gretchen's story next (squee)!!
