4 Star Review by Ashley Anne Jolin has written something special. Hell on Heels is the most unconventional love story I've read in a while but there was just something about it that captured my heart. This book. This world. This woman. The dedication alone pulled me in but it was the uniqueness of Charleston and all of her quirks that kept me glued until the last page. My favorite thing about Charleston was how much of a brilliant mess she was. This woman had been dealt a crap hand when she was younger and even years later it was still wrecking chaos on her life. On the surface she has it together but when the heels come off and the doors close, she is a hot mess. But she's working on it. It took time, a lot of it but as the story progresses you can see the change. It didn't hurt that there were three men to help pull her out of herself and into the here and now. WOW! All of the guys were so different and brought out different things in Charleston. The was Beau, the true gentlemen. Maverick, the rough and tough guy. And Dean, the one who held her past. But only one brought out the version of herself she wanted to be. So who did she pick? I'm not telling! I adored this book. Charleston is such a strong and wonderfully flawed character. Her loss, her heartbreak and desperation were palpable but so was the work, the dedication and the small moments of happiness she found. I loved seeing her become her own hero. She learned to lift herself up and turned the ashes into flames. Anne Jolin's words bled from the page and into my soul. About the Author I was born and raised in Ladner, a small farm town just outside Vancouver, Canada. I grew up riding horses, shooting guns, and driving in trucks.
I never expected to be an author. A massage therapist? Yes. Take over the family construction company? Yes. But an author? No. Writing was something that snuck up on me and rooted itself into my life. It was beautiful to discover that love, and I’m truly grateful to say I’ve found my passion. Since I’ve always been a creative person, it feels amazing to harness all of that energy and use it to tell a story I love. I enjoy incorporating bits of my real life into the stories I write. What parts are true? Hah. I’ll never tell—what would be the fun in that? If I could leave y’all with one thing, it’s that life’s far too short to not live it out loud. Drown in your passions, hold on tight to the things that inspire you, and chase your dreams relentlessly. I can promise you without a doubt that you won’t regret it. I know I don’t.
