Hidden Waters by Catherine Cowles

My family tried to break me. But, somehow, I made it out alive, even though the wounds from that survival are forever carved into my bones. Now, my only wish is for…normal. To know what it’s like to have friends, a job, a home.

The last thing I want is for my new roommate to see the scars I’m so desperate to keep hidden, especially not the ruggedly handsome man who steals my breath and sends my heart into overdrive.

But something tells me that Beckett has demons, too. I see it in the shadows haunting his gorgeous eyes and the way he looks at me with gentle understanding.

As our unlikely friendship becomes so much more, forces from my life slink out of the shadows. And we could both lose everything we’ve fought so hard for—down to our very last breaths…

4.5 Heart Review by Ashley

I have been waiting for Addie's book since the Tattered & Torn series started and I was not let down at all. Seriously, Catherine Cowles! What did you do to me? I need a hug, a drink and a blanket after finishing Hidden Waters.

I absolutely loved Addie. She was brave and resilient. Curious and eager to learn. Shy but also bold. Taking her life back on her terms after all she had endured and survived. Her newest thing to navigate...a roommate. Beckett.
I really liked Beckett. Doing his best to figure out where he fit in his old home town. How he could make up for the time lost. Replace the guilt he carried with something else. What he wasn't expecting was the feelings Addie stirred in him. Want and need battled with protectiveness as her past just wouldn't seem to let her go.

At no other point was Addie's strength more on display than when she battled all her demons head on. Goodness, my heart was racing and my eyes were flying over the pages to see how everything would play out. Talk about intense reading, I feel winded after finishing Addie and Beckett's unlikely romance. Tender. Romantic. Sweet. Dangerous. Sexy these two were everything I wanted and so much more.
