My finest trick?
Convincing you I’ve forgotten...

Names on a list.Faces in a crowd.
One little girl.

They told me to get over it. I can't do that.
I want them to pay.

Every.

4 Star Review by Ashley

I have been itching for Molly's story since I met the little spitfire in the Bright Lights Duet. To be honest she wasn't my favorite person. She was a bit naive, a bit ambitious and a whole lot angry And while her quest for vengeance was mostly justified, it was also reckless, dangerous. She had lived a lot in her young life and suffered a great deal at the hands of others. But I had no idea it would be quite so intense. Yeah, intense with a victory lap that about sums up Hit Girl.

I really enjoyed getting more of Molly's backstory. Glimpsing into the time she spent in France and Nice shone a light on how she coped (or didn't) with all that had happened to her back in New Orleans. Her toughness didn't surprise me but finding out her weakness did; Joshua. He was just wonderful. I really liked how he adored Molly. How he put her needs first. How he loved her. Tenderly. Honestly. Patiently. Thoroughly. But he also gradually pushed her to open up, share her pain with him, let him carry it for her.

Unexpectedly, Joshua stumbled upon Molly's biggest secret and set off the chain of events that had my heart racing. It was one twist and turn after another for the last half of the book but Molly is a fighter and in for the fight of her life, she did what she had to. It didn't hurt that she had more friends than she knew helping her out along the way.

I liked that Molly's character was so complex. Tia Louise created a young woman who was vulnerable and strong, protective, brave and fiercely loyal. From Seattle to New Orleans and revenge plots to happiness, Molly's journey was full of hope and pain. And I was so glad this ended the way it did- anything else wouldn't have worked.
