The alphaness of the men and then having moves to back it up is straight up catnip. And to get to try new to me authors while I'm at it, yes please.
While I haven't read all the stories within Hit Me With Your Best Shot yet, here are my thoughts on the ones I've finished so far... Love Made Me Do It by Saffron A. Kent: My first book from Saffron A. Kent. It was sassy and sexy and smart. While I didn't love the way Riot used his position of power to get what he wanted from Meadow. BUT he did redeem himself with the way he showed his true colors to her. Sidelined by Ki Stephens: Another first time author for me. I really liked this friends-to-lovers story. It was a sweet and sentimental reconciliation. And despite Lila and Callum's reservations they weren't holding back this time. In the Company of Darkness by Jay McLean: Holy angst batman. There is so pain and loss for both Harlow and Liam. I can't wait for the rest of their story to be revealed later this year. Because I NEED to know what is in store for them with the plan they hatched. Onside Recovery by Maggie Rawdon: Maggie Rawdon is a name I've been seeing a lot but haven't had a chance to dive into yet. But as I am a sucker for a swoony single dad I knew I wanted to read this addition to the anthology. I enjoyed the sense of almost anger as Gabe battled his feelings for his best friend. Because Aurora, bless her, is a bit of a mess. I felt like I wanted more of the what happens now...because there is A LOT to sort out.
