So seeing the next generation have their own stories was like an early Christmas present. To be fair, I didn't read the blurb of Holding Onto Forever before starting it so I wasn't quite prepared for the emotional toll Holding Onto Forever took. Peyton and Noah, best friends for as long as they can remember. Until life and dreams got in the way. But they're never far from each others thoughts, and certainly not out of their hearts. They were both so invested in the others happiness that they sacrificed their own. I loved revisiting their past and seeing them grow up and secretly fall in love with each other. It took a tragedy to make Noah truly realize his feelings and do something about it. I won't get into the who or the what but there was someone that I didn't like at. All. They stirred up so much trouble for Peyton and Noah that I wasn't sure they would be able to work through it. Holding Onto Forever was emotional overload and my heart almost didn't make it. While I loved seeing some of my favorite characters from the original Beaumont series sprinkled through the pages here, I just know that this new generation is going to give them a run for their money in the angst department.
