Though I shouldn't be too surprised as she is the queen of the plot twist. There was all this emotion and tension at the end of the first book and then here, there was a sweet romance as Legend and Scarlett get to know one another. Reconnect. Though Gabriel still harbored a lot of guilt for the way he treated Scarlett, he vowed to make it up to her. To prove through his actions and words that he could be the man she deserved. I liked seeing the thoughtful, tender side of him on display. But make no mistake, he was still very protective. Things were moving forward for them as a couple but the problems they faced didn't go away. In fact, they became more pressing. Tough decisions and moves had to be made. A plan was in place. It was all on the up and up and then...BAM! The unexpected. Hoooooooooly crap! I feel like I say that with every Meghan March book but with the way House of Scarlett ended I mean it more than ever! My heart was racing and breaking and I NEED the conclusion to this trilogy...stat!
