They were never supposed to be. When their lives collide again, is it wrong to want what they could never have?

Emma has kept her pain buried longer than she can remember. Abandoned by her mother at an early age, the successful rock star struggles with depression and self-harm. And when the man who raised her dies, she rushes back home… and into a drunken sexy night with his son.

Link can barely handle his grief. With his father gone and the pressure of keeping his business alive, he’s burning with shame over ending up in bed with the woman he was supposed to protect. So when the will requires them to take his dad’s ashes on a cross-country road trip, he vows to keep his burgeoning feelings for her locked down tight.

As Emma reels from Link’s rejection, she falls deeper into the dark urges compelling her towards self-destruction. And as Link does his best to help the damaged musician process her emotional trials, he fights to resist his own need to wrap her in his arms forever.

Will the lovestruck pair recognize their destined passion and give themselves over to love?

In The Grey is the gut-wrenching sixth book in the Shattered Cove romance series. If you like complex characters, hot and heavy scenes, and stories of hope, then you’ll adore A. M. Kusi’s powerful tale of healing.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

I need a blanket and a hug after finishing In the Grey. This return to Shattered Cove was unlike the others in the series. Talk about emotionally intense. From the very beginning I knew I was going to be put through the wringer and I wasn't wrong.

My heart ached for Emma and Link. For their loss. The guilt they harbored. Their shared pain. The pain they held silently in their hearts.

When they were living out Sol's last wish, things took an unexpectedly sexy turn. Holy smoke show! These two were dynamite together. I loved that they were unafraid to express themselves the way they did. Too bad they couldn't be that honest when the clothes were on...

My stomach churned and I found myself rubbing my chest the final quarter of the book. I won't lie, things took a dark-ish turn I wasn't expecting. But A.M. Kusi handled it with the patience and care it deserved. Emma and Link's emotional and angsty roller coaster of highs and lows kept me on edge all the way through. And that ending!!! It was so wonderfully them and left me with a swoony smile on my face.
