Winslow Covington believes in life, liberty and the letter of the law. As Quincy, Montana’s new chief of police, she’s determined to prove herself to the community and show them she didn’t earn her position because her grandfather is the mayor.

According to her pops, all she has to do is earn favor with the Edens. But winning over the town’s founding family might have been easier if not for her one-night stand with their oldest son. In her defense, it was her first night in town and she didn’t realize that the rugged and charming man who wooed her into bed was Quincy royalty.

Sleeping with Griffin Eden was a huge mistake, one she’s trying to forget. He’s insufferable, arrogant and keeps reminding everyone that she’s an outsider. Winslow does her best to avoid Griffin, but when a woman is found dead on Eden property, the two of them have no choice but to cross paths.

As clues to the murderer lead to one of Quincy’s own, Griffin realizes Winslow is more than he gave her credit for. Beautiful and intelligent, she proves hard to resist. For him. And the killer.

4.5 Heart Review by Ashley

If there is one thing Devney Perry can do it is grab you by the throat from the start of a book. She did just that with Indigo Ridge and that hold got tighter and tighter as the story unfolded.

I really like Winn. She was brave and bold, confident with just the right amount of humility. She was determined to make the most of her new position and new town. She knew it wouldn't be easy, she was young for her role but she didn't expect quite the push back she received. Especially from her steamy one night stand that turned out not to be a non-tourist.

Oh my goodness Griffin. There was just the right amount of broody in that cowboy. He loved his family and his land and his town. He didn't have time for distractions or a relationship. Too bad a suspicious suicide leads her right to his land. WHEW! You could cut the tension and animosity with a plastic spoon.

I loved that Winn followed her gut when everyone around her was trying to tell her no- that's not the way it goes here. She stuck to her guns and low and behold the scandal and mystery that she uncovered rocked her new community.

Winn and Griffin's one night stand, enemies-to-lovers romance had me on edge. It was steamy and intricately woven and the way all the threads came together had me reading as fast as my eyes would allow. Hats off to Devney Perry, because I am pretty good at figuring out whodunit, but in this case I was only half right. I didn't see that final twist coming at all. I mean geez Louise, talk about unexpected. My heart was absolutely pounding as those tense scenes played out and everything was hanging in the balance. And that ending! Oh my yes...I need to get back to Quincy soon!
