Jason King was presented the opportunity of a lifetime: assume control of Guardian Security from the billionaire who had built the world renowned agency. As CEO, Jason would manage the best security resources in the world. Former SEALs, Rangers, Recon, Green Berets, agents from every alphabet agency in the nation, not to mention law enforcement stand outs, flocked to the organization he’d control. But the offer came with a painful stipulation. Jason King must lay to rest the demons haunting him. Faith Collins' stepbrother rescued her and her infant son from a hideous life, then died overseas in a black ops mission gone tragically wrong. Faith knew how to pick up and go on when things got bad. So she'd made peace with losing him--until Jason King arrived. Neither expected their meeting would tilt the world on its axis–and offer them the solace they both desperately craved. 4 Star Review by AshleyIf I've said it once I've said it two thousand times- military romance, all day, please and thank you. Jason, Kings of Guardian book four is the first title I've read by Kris Michaels. That being said, it took me a few chapters to keep all the brothers straight but after that it was smooth reading. But let me go back to the start because WOW! What a way to open a book. My heart was racing with every word- I could feel the heat and the grit and the regret beating down on Jason. That man wears his heart and his grief on his sleeve. His scars are his badge of honor but they don't come without their demons. When he sets out to face them and put the past to rest he wasn't expecting to land face to hose with Faith Collins. This bombshell has made the most of what life has handed her. It's been a lot- and most of it through no fault of her own. I loved how she dug herself out of the pit life had made for her and made something of herself- not just for her but for her son, Reece. That little boy, with his sweetness, innocence and love of superheroes stole my heart and Jason's. The moments between those two melted my heart as much as they melted Faith's panties. Those two really knew how to steam it up in the bedroom. But what I liked the most about Jason and Faith was how they were free to just be themselves around each other. They drew on each others strength and it healed and filled the broken pieces of their lives. As they're building and planning their future together, an unknown threat presents itself. It puts not just Reece and Faith in harms way but the whole Guardian team is at risk. But this time Jason has more than pride and revenge on his mind, he has his family to fight for and protect. I loved seeing this change in him. He didn't lose any of his alpha-ness but his motivation changed. I think Kris Michaels nailed this one. There was intensity, danger, sweetness, corruption, sex, family, spies and love. And somehow, with all of that going on, it all just worked. The dynamic between the King brothers was another high point for me. It was realistic and showed just how much they all counted on and relied on each other. They were a strong unit, made stronger by the love in their lives. I am so looking forward to going back and getting caught up on the rest of their stories.
