There is a fine line between genius and madness… Between love and hate, Between right and wrong. Joseph had created The Estate for her… His wife, The woman he chose to bear his child. She was beauty unsurpassed; And her song was unlike anything he’d ever known. However, their love was a story that would not find a happy ending. In this prequel novella to the Estate series, follow Joseph Carmichael as he creates a world unlike any other. Because, in order to comprehend The Estate, you must understand Joseph; but, in order to understand Joseph, you must discover how a man falls from light into the pitch black depths of ultimate darkness. Review by BrittanyArianna has fallen in love with a man. Joseph Carmichael is a businessman, and a successful businessman at that. He has created an empire, an estate. The Estate. Once the two have wed, Joseph starts to become obsessed. Obsessed with creating a child with Arianna, obsessed with wealth, drugs, and power. He deals with criminals, the authorities are paid off, growing more and more powerful throughout the years… Years after they wed, Arianna starts to see less and less of Joseph. She’s being protected by a guard, Joseph’s most trusted man, Connor, after almost being raped while taking a walk on the grounds. Soon, Connor can no longer turn a blind eye to the abuse that Joseph inflicts upon Arianna. He takes her to the forest and shows her a happy, quiet place where the two slowly turn into lovers. Arianna ends up pregnant, after years and years of Joseph trying to make a baby with her. The steel-grey eyes confirm who’s the father once Aaron Joseph Carmichael is born. Connor can no longer sit around and watch the pain that Arianna experiences at the hand of Joseph. He makes a plan for him, Arianna, and Aaron to escape somewhere Joseph won’t be able to find them… Read this if you dare. This book is not for the faint of heart. Watch as Joseph descends farther and farther into madness. Read about the torture, the pain, the gruesome, bloody scenes… Let me start this off by saying I DID NOT FINISH THIS BOOK. I got to eighty-eight percent before I closed my Kindle, put my head in my hands, and sighed. I love dark books. I’ve heard this is the best one out there, so of course I had to read it. As I said, this is NOT for the faint of heart. There are many, many torturous scenes. Murder of innocent children and people. Rape, sexual abuse, violence, drugs, madness. I wanted to read and see what happened, to see how Arianna would handle everything. I wanted to see what else Joseph was capable of, but it was just too much. At one point, I knew the outcome of a certain act. I knew the outcome of the outcome was going to be bad. I was literally shaking, afraid to find out I was right, all the while hoping I would be terribly wrong. But of course I was right, and the consequences were horrific. I have a feeling that the outcome of this book would make me both happy and sad. I don’t know what happens, but if what I believe happens is true, then I am happy that there is no more suffering for Arianna, but also devastated that she did not get the happy ending she so deserved. Since I did not finish this book, there is no way I am rating it. That is not fair, as I do not have an accurate understanding of the whole book. Besides, I don’t even think I could rate it. I hated it, I hated the actions of the book, but I loved it because I was so into it. I would withdraw into the world of Joseph Fallen as I read… As I said this is not for the faint of heart. You have been warned. I am not liable for those that read this and discover their worst nightmare… If you read it, I applaud you. You are brave, braver than I am. If you enter into the world of The Estate, beware and good luck.

I'm too much of a wuss to read something that dark, but I had to stop buy and congratulate you on making it as far as you did. It sounds intense.
