A promise is a promise, but he made one that may be impossible to keep.

One look at her takes his breath away just moments before he makes a complete ass of himself. Zyan’s sure if he can get her to accept his apology, he can charm her into his arms. He’s also sure it’s going to take a lot of work. She’s not like the other women he’s met, and it’s clear that she won’t take any nonsense from him.

Landee worked hard to get her company started, and it’s a good living for a single mom, even if it is a bit unconventional. When the tall, good-looking firefighter pokes fun at her, she’s in no mood for his caveman attitude. She tries to avoid him, but when she finally offers him a chance to redeem himself, she sees a side of Zyan that leaves her wanting more.

Before long they’re more than just friends, and Zyan is also totally smitten with Landee’s little girl, Annalise. Her ex, Curt, has always been a decent father to Annalise, but his behavior is becoming far too strange. That makes Landee very uneasy. Turns out she has every reason to be.

Zyan promised Annalise if she was ever in trouble, he’d find her. He doesn’t have any idea where to start on his quest to keep his promise, but he knows one thing. They’re the family he’d always dreamed of, and no one is going to rip his two girls from his arms, not if he has any say in it.

No one.

3 Heart Review by Ashley

Justice for Landee is my first read from Deanndra Hall and it was ok. I feel that if I have read some of her other books I would've been able to keep better track of all the side characters (and there were a lot of them- mostly Zyan's co-workers at the station). It was touted as romantic suspense and I wanted a lot more mystery and danger mixed in with the romance between Landee and Zyan.

I really liked Landee. She was unapologetically herself. She wasn't embarrassed or ashamed of what she did for a living. And she put the people who tried to make her feel that way in her place. Case in point, Zyan. He sure did put his foot in his mouth the first time they met. And it was all he could do to try and let him apologize for his blunder.

It didn't take long for him to charm his way into her good graces. Or those of her daughter, Annalise. That little girl was smart and curious and got caught in the middle of something she never should have been a part of.

I could spot the danger element of Justice for Landee coming from two miles away. There is in fact no mystery about how it was all going to shake out; it was only a matter of how long it would take. That being said, while the relationship between Zyan and Landee was equal parts sexy and sweet, the bond Zyan formed with Annalise was probably my favorite part of the whole book.

About the Author

Deanndra Hall is a working author living in the far western end of the beautiful Bluegrass State with her husband of over 35 years and small menagerie of weird little dogs. When she’s not writing, she’s editing. When she’s doing neither of those two things, she’s having dinner with friends, spending time with family, kayaking, eating chocolate, drinking beer or moonshine, or looking for something that she put in the wrong place and can’t seem to find (which is pretty much everything she owns).
