After the first sighting, he’s fascinated.

After the first smile, he’s infatuated.

By the first kiss, he’s obsessed.

Nolan sees Chloe through a window of a bakery in downtown Manhattan. At first sight, something about her calls to a piece of him he thought was lost. Without thinking, he begins watching her, and when the moment presents itself, he strikes, claiming Chloe for himself. For a man who is used to getting what he wants Nolan wont let anyone or anything stand in his way.

This is the first book in Aurora Rose Reynold's Alfha Law Firm Series.  It is a bit different to Aurora's other works, it is more of a novella - a page count of 109.  This means that the story is going to be fast paced and action filled to make sure that we get our closure at the end of the book.  You need to be aware of this going in, because it is a bit of a different format to what she normally writes.  This of course doesn't mean you will be disappointed, but it does mean you will go into it knowing what you are getting.  This book is different from her Until and Underground Kings Series.  It still features a SMOKING hot alpha male, but it is different.

This is the story of Nolan and Chloe and the book moves between the past and present.  When we meet them they are already involved in a HOT, steamy and passionately loving relationship.

Nolan is older, incredibly successful and smitten with Chloe almost from the moment he lays eyes on her in the bakery where she works.

Nolan wants to tie Chloe to him in every way imaginable.  He is an alpha after all, used to getting things when he wants them.  He likes things to move at his pace and he will never accept no for an answer.  He loves Chloe more than anything in the world.

Whilst Chloe returns his sentiments and feelings, she doesn't want the relationship to move at warp speed and is happy with the status quo.  This seems to be her first real relationship, and although she does love Nolan, she is also a woman that is self sufficient and wants to be her own person.

Unfortunately for Nolan,  success and wealth come with a heavy price - enemies that would do their utmost to see him unhappy.  Small things start happening that initially impact his work and then finally have a domino effect in that Chloe ends up hospitalized.  Nolan knows the only way to keep her safe is to keep her with him.  We all know what the alpha wants the alpha gets...

Initially after reading this book, I was like WHAT??? It's over already.. HOW? WHY?  I want more... I then reread it and realised I was being more than a little unfair to the author.  The book is completely different to what she has written previously and is a novella.  The book is good - it is full of all the tough, hard ass and loving alpha who makes you swoon and want to beat him at the same time.  It has SOME seriously smoking hot sex scenes which will seriously set your panties alight.  It is also a love story about a man who loves his woman and isn't afraid to show it!  I loved it Aurora Rose Reynolds - and I am giving you 4 stars for this awesome book!
