Inspired by True Real Life Events… When Lana Martin is kidnapped and thrown into a world of darkness, she is forced to do many things she otherwise would have never considered, the most horrible of all being to take a deep long look at herself. What she sees scares the hell out of her, and those around her. Sex for her is quickly transformed from the mundane to a dangerous way of life. Something dark is awakened inside of her, an unknown desire, an insatiable hunger for a master to use her for his pleasure. Her need for submission takes her down a winding path of pain and pleasure, as she comes to grips with her carnal lust, and her need to have it satisfied. Her captor awoke a sexual beast he hadn’t expected, and no one is prepared for Lana Martin. WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, abduction, sexual content, anal play, breath play, spanking, dubious consent, bondage, minor bdsm, strong language, and graphic violence. Review by Brittany*dramatic Law and Order voice* This book was based on real events. DUN DUN I was shocked when I read the note at the beginning that this book was based on real events. Now, don’t go assuming on who went through this, because you know what they say… Lana was a regular person. She worked at the local Wal-Mart type store, never later, never missing a day, until one day, she just didn’t show up. No call, no message passed along to a friend. And that one day, turned into multiple days, turned into weeks. Her close friend at the store, Sergio, was worried. He went to the police, but they didn’t do anything. Except the detective knew. He knew someone had her, and he knew exactly who it was. When the detective found Lana, it was at her abductor’s house. She was lying on the floor, naked, and her abductor was standing over her, wielding a knife. The horror that went on during the time Lana was abducted is told in this story. It is graphic, that’s for sure. I would categorize it as a dark erotic romance. So, readers beware. Once Lana was saved, she moved in with Sergio, afraid to be on her own. Ever since the ordeal, she’s been craving pain. She purposely disobeys him just so she can feel the sting of his hand or a paddle on her bare behind. But as time goes on, she starts to wonder. Is she the monster? Did she turn Sergio into what he is? Or is he just trying to make her happy? I really enjoy dark romances. It’s probably my favorite genre. I love reading about the taboo, the rape, the pain. Yeah, it might make me sick and twisted, but hey, others must enjoy it too, or else it wouldn’t be written. But again, remember, this actually happened. The stuff that we read about in this genre, not just this book, could actually happen to someone. I will give Kristin four stars for her debut novel. Some sentences didn’t flow the way I would have liked and I feel she could have added a little more emotion into the story. But other than that, I felt this book is a great start for this up and coming author. She has book two under way, hopefully it’ll be done soon. I would love to continue following Lana as she hopefully heals from the attack, finding herself and who she is. I just want her to be happy… whoever she is. And whoever’s story this is based off of, I wanted to say thank you for being willing and able to share your story. I would think it would be difficult, having people read what you’ve been through, something you would probably want to forget. You are strong, and getting stronger everyday. About Kristin ElyonDuring the day I work as a senior portrait photographer and a graphic designer. I'm also a college student who loves zombies, vampires, and werewolves. Anything supernatural I am drawn to along with Starbucks frappes! I spend my free time watching The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead and True Blood. My favorite genre to write is erotica and it's strongly recommended by my readers to make sure you have your sham wow panties on because my stories will leave you with moisture in the very best of places.
