Evie and Leo met in foster care as children and formed a bond of friendship. As they grew, their bond turned to love, and they vowed to make a life together when they turned 18 and were no longer a part of the system.

When Leo unexpectedly gets adopted as a teen and he moves to another city, he promises Evie that he will contact her as soon as he gets there and come back for her in a few short years. She never hears from him again.

Now eight years later, in spite of the odds, Evie has made a life for herself. She has a job. She has friends. She's content. Then a man shows up out of the blue, claiming that her long lost love, Leo, sent him to check up on her. The attraction between them is undeniable. But, should she trust this sexy stranger? Or is he keeping a secret about what his connection to Leo is really all about and why Leo disappeared all those years ago?

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY LEO. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Evie was put into foster care when she was young. At one of the homes, she met Leo, a boy who was a year older than her. They became fast friends, slowly turning into love. One day, Leo has to leave. He’s been adopted and is traveling across the country. He promises to write to Evie as soon as he gets there… but she never hears from him.

Fast forward eight years later. Evie notices a guy is following her. She confronts him and finds out Leo’s friend, Jake Madsen, was sent by Leo to check on her. At Leo’s request, she saved herself, hoping one day Leo would be there for her.

Finding solace and comfort in Jake, she finally allows herself to fall in love. Something sketchy is happening with Jake, though, and she’s determined to find out what it is. Will this secret break and destroy them?

Oh wow! I loved this book! From the beginning, I thought I knew what was gonna happen. Turns out, I was wrong… but then I later found out, I was right!

This story is full of heartbreak and triumph. These two people overcome so much and they have become better people. While Leo may not be there, Evie finds a little bit of Leo in Jake, and she’s grateful for that.

I love Mia Sheridan. She’s an amazing writer. This is the second book of hers I’ve read, but I’ve noticed that she truly knows how to tell a tale. She knows how to make the reader feel the emotion. That’s a true and amazing gift for an author.

I am so excited that there’s a second book about Leo and Evie. I cannot wait to read it! Mia Sheridan, great job on another five star book!
