Former Navy SEAL, Luca Kirwin, is both well trained and deadly. Recruited into a non-government sanctioned project, he was turned into a weapon. Now, with the help of his team, Luca must find every last soul who was responsible for the project and make them pay. When a new neighbor with alluring green eyes moves in next door, his instincts tell him to trust her - but could she be one of the enemies they’re searching for?

Evie Scott can’t afford a relationship. She was in a one once and it almost killed her. Running and hiding has become her normal. But when her new neighbor gives her a job in the small town of Marble Falls, avoiding him becomes almost impossible. While protecting her secrets, Evie begins to suspect Luca has his own. Can he protect her from her past or will it destroy them both?

4 Heart Review by Ashley

I'm always on the hunt for new romantic suspense authors, add a military man into the mix and it is game- set- match. And when Nyssa Kathryn hooked me from the first page of Luca I knew I wouldn't be getting to bed on time.

I gotta to start with Evie. She was so dang strong. Smart. Determined to break free. I really liked that even though she was running for her life, scared, alone and weary, she had a plan. But the one thing she didn't plan on was her new neighbor, Luca.

Oh man, and he is all man, Luca was exactly what Evie needed. He is the definition of strong silent type but his kindness shone through. It was evident in the way he handled Evie's skittishness and fear. How he gently coaxed her into comfort and made her feel safe. Defended her to his teammates when they raised their doubts.

As they spent more time together, Evie slowly lowered her defenses. Let Luca in. Shared the hardest parts of what she had survived. As the pieces of her puzzle started to come together, the threats against her were mounting. And of Luca's protective instincts came out to defend what was his. But no matter what the team did, they couldn't get a step ahead of the danger.

I could feel the tension bubble about to burst and when it did, my heart was pounding. I was reading as fast as my eyes would allow to see how it would all play out. Whew! Luca was a whirlwind of deceit, corruption and romance. I loved the strength that both Evie and Luca found in each other and I can not wait to see where Nyssa Kathryn takes this series next!
