The perfect man for me is a charming, sexy, hot as hell lawyer who knows how to negotiate his way into my panties.

#Pfftwhatever

Been there.
Done that.
Burned the T-shirt.

I didn't swear off all men after my divorce, but I sure as hell swore off anyone remotely like my ex. On the top of that list? Attorneys. Everyone knows they can't be trusted.

Now that I've moved back into my childhood home in Chicago, my focus is my daughter, my mom and me. I haven't given up on finding my happily-ever-after, it's just on hold-indefinitely. Yup, life is in a real upswing.

Then I see Reed Warner again, and I'm reminded of all my mistakes. I push him away, but somehow he weasels his way into every part of my life, not willing to take no for an answer.

In spite of my better judgment I can't stop thinking about the way his designer suits fit his muscular frame, or the way his blue eyes seem to eat me up with every glance.

You know when you're on a diet and even hummus seems irresistible? Reed is like the equivalent of chocolate éclair and my willpower is fading fast.

The problem? Not only is he a lawyer…

He was the best man at my wedding.

4 Star Review by Ashley

I'm not sure how this is my first read from Piper Rayne but I have been missing out. Manic Monday was the perfect little rom-com. With enough humor and heat and just the right touch or drama to make me not want to put it down.

I adored Victoria. Her strength and sheer determination. Her kindness and gentleness with her family. Her quick wit with her co-workers (who are hilarious). Her nervousness around Reed. Oh Reed- insert the swoon....for serious there need to be more men like Reed. Driven, trustworthy, loyal, honest. It didn't hurt that he was handsome as sin and had a heart of gold. He wanted Victoria- it wasn't a secret. He did all he could to let her know it. Too bad he had two strikes against him from the get go.

His persistence finally wore her down and together, Reed and Victoria were wonderful. It was that couple of just good people that you were so happy found each other. There was mutual respect and adoration. And the way Reed and Jade bonded was something extra special. But when the reality of life outside of their happy bubble came calling, it brought all of Victoria's fears back to the surface. I love that she stuck to her guns and was living her life by the new set of rules she had made for herself. That doesn't mean it didn't suck when she made the hard decision she did. Because it did, she was a miserable mess- heartbreak has a way of doing that to a person.

There was something so charming and downright endearing about Reed and Victoria's story that I didn't realize it was over until I was trying to read pages that weren't there. And that little tease right at the end, oh yea...I'm very much looking forward to more of this series from Piper Rayne.
