Mr. Park Lane by Louise Bay

I haven’t seen him in over a decade, but Joshua Luca can still get to me. And I hate it.

At twenty-nine, I’m a doctor and I’ve travelled the world, but just the thought of him has me sliding my sweaty palms down my jeans and wishing I could steady my racing heartbeat.

Joshua was an almost obsession until, at seventeen, he cost me my future. In one night, I grew up and let go of my silly crush.

My infatuation for Joshua is dead and buried. Forever.

It doesn’t matter that he’s my new flat mate.

Or that he still has that same sexy smile.

I barely notice how that, despite his billions, he’s the kindest man I know.

Or that when he touches me, a thousand tiny fireworks explode all over my body.

I’m completely over Joshua Luca.

3.5 Heart Review by Ashley

Confession: I haven't read Louise Bay in a looooooooong time. But give me a billionaire with an accent and a smart, sassy woman with no filter and I am down for it.

I absolutely adored Hartford. She was kind and just full of life. And her contagious joy rubbed off on the stoic, bath-taking crush of her childhood, Joshua. While he wasn't stuffy, he definitely took advantage of the privileges his wealth afforded him. I liked how Hartford kept him on his toes. Guessing what she would do or say next to shake up his carefully ordered life.

It didn't take long for their plan to change their friendship into something neither of them was expecting. Something more. Deeper. There was this ease to them when they were together that was oh so satisfying. But when they learn they're on opposite sides of a battle, lines are drawn and hearts get hurt.

I LOVED how Hartford stood her ground on what was right. Even if it meant sacrificing the happiness she never dreamed she could have. More than that though, was the change in Joshua as he realized there are some things more important than business.

Mr. Park Lane was a sweet, straight forward romance. From start to finish. Hartford and Joshua's friends-to-lovers, opposites attract romance was low-ish on drama and full of laughter. And that ending, has me itching to see this group of friends again.

About the Author

USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful (not currently on sale as undergoing maintenance!), Hopeful, The Empire State Series, The Nights Collection, The Royals Collection, and The Gentleman Collection (these are series of stand alone books each following different characters). Louise’s most recent novel is Mr. Mayfair which is available now!

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There’s not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, The West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
