I hate that I love you,” she said. “You left me.”“I lost you, there’s a difference. Now that I found you, I intend to keep you.”

Lost.

I’d tasted the sweetest fruit of temptation, and I wanted another bite. I had promised myself before, but once wasn’t enough. The savory flavor of her lingered long after I’d lost her. Contending with the pressure to return to the fight, in order to prove myself to my father and the world, I had to let her go.

Found.

It has been a year. Sofie Vincentia and I had played a dangerous game. For one night, we pretended, only to discover our farce was real. I’d lost her, but I hadn’t stopped searching, hoping for her return. I was used to getting what I wanted, so when she didn’t come to me, I had to go after her. This would be the greatest fight of my life.

4 Star Review by Ashley

Once again L.B. Dunbar has left me speechless with her ability to write across any genre. I loved her rockers but the Callahan crew is something else- she took her writing to another level with this one. Cain's story was as compelling as it was complex. All throughout, there was this overwhelming sense of something wicked is coming and I was glued to my kindle to know what would happen.

Where do I even start with Cain? His loyalty to who and what he loves. His protectiveness. His selflessness. His body (can't forget about that). His giving and forgiving nature. His persistence and patience. His kindness. All of it and so much more made up this lovely man that I couldn't help but fall for. Just ask Sophie. At first I thought she was a bit weak but oh no- this woman has a backbone of steel. She loves fully and deeply and you can't help but root for her to get her happiness. I loved that these two brought out another side of each
other. She is the soft to his hard. He is the seducer to her sweetness. Both Sophie and Cain are fighters and the proved it by fighting for the future that they wanted- together.

I don't even want to get into all the mayhem that Atom (if you've read Abel's story you know his level of madness) stirs up for Cain and Sophie. Just know that it will leave you with your heart racing and your jaw on the floor. This man is his own brand of crazy and his sense of entitlement just made me shake my head because you know people like that really exist. Jealousy is an ugly monster and Atom couldn't leave well enough alone. His antics and need for revenge put everyone from Abel to Sophie in danger. Of course Cain was there to do what he always does, try to handle the situation with as little harm to everyone else. But that day, no one was left unscathed.

L.B. Dunbar really worked her writing magic in Paradise Found. Among all the chaos, there was a great balance to the sweetness and sinfulness  and there was one twist after unexpected turn. And that last one- just wow! I was as blindsided as anyone- but it was so perfectly in tune with the whirlwind that was Cain's world. My fingers are crossed for this side of the story sometime soon!

About the Author

Picture
L.B. Dunbar loves the original legend of King Arthur. Inspired by this classic tale, she pulled over to the side of the road to take notes when it hit her that if King Arthur lived today, he'd be a rock star. A lover of fairy tales, myths, legends, and anything with happily ever after, she loves to read and write contemporary romance. Her Legendary Rock Stars series is complete with the final tale: The Trials of Guinevere DeGrance, but the story began with The Legend of Arturo King. She also wrote The Sensations Collection, which includes five stand alones based on the five senses in a small town setting near Lake Michigan. Raised on one side of that lake, she grew up in Michigan, but now lives on the other side, in Chicago. Mother to four, wife to the one and only, and teacher to hundreds of former students, she looks forward to sharing more stories in the future.
