Five Star Review by Ashley Harper Sloan is one of my go-to authors and while this book is a departure from her norm it is no less brilliant. In fact, it may just be my favorite of her works (sorry Beck & Dee). Perfectly Imperfect was a true honor to read. It is bold, brave and powerfully moving. My heart is so full and I think I must've hilighted half of the passages. There was so much to love; especially Willow and Kane. Willow- there are pieces of her in everyone. EVERYONE. I absolutely love her. She is a beautiful mess but finds a way to pull herself out of the situations that bring her down. What she has survived and lived with and through is enough to break anyone down. Especially since it came at the hands of those who should've been there to help hold her up. I could go on and on and on about those people but I won't. Just know that there are a few people you will want to karate chop. Willow has had enough and finds it within herself to make the changes she needs to. For her. Nobody else. And I think that may just be my favorite thing about her...But she didn't go it alone. She had her two best friends, Eddie and Kirby to help her along the new path she found herself on. The things these two would say, had me in stitches. Especially Kirby with her unapologetic telling of how it is. And that isn't limited to Willow, she doesn't hold back with Kane either. Kane is another story all together. That man. I loved his gentleness and persistence. He did what he had to do to get what he wanted; Willow. The magic he worked behind the scenes to get her into his orbit had a goofy grin on my face. Though it isn't all smooth sailing for them, they find a way to lean on each other and be each others strength when they need it. When push came to shove it was Willow, with her warrior heart, that came to save the day. She didn't let anything hold her back for doing what she knew was right. Insecurities and haters be damned. She is strength personified and her actions in the face of the turmoil proved just how much she had grown. I didn't just read this book, I felt it. I laughed, I cried (oh how I cried), I swooned, I got angry- you name it, I experienced it while reading Perfectly Imperfect. This book- just yes. Harper Sloan went above and beyond and gave us readers a piece of herself. Please read her letter and the start of the book and her thank you's at the end. They are both so full of heart and hope. #IAmWillow About the AuthorHarper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husband’s chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero--the super alpha kind! Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
