You want the truth?

The truth is there’ll never be enough time in the world to figure out how to go back.

I’ll never come up with a way to change the outcome.

The truth is I don’t need to hear I have a son.

I can’t deny it’s real because he’s the living, breathing proof my life is out of control.

But the truth is I love him.

The truth is it’s just him and me for the foreseeable future…

Until I met a girl who crossed my heart and changed it all.

Emelia was a bright star in my abandoned sky, and it would take a miracle to keep her there.

I’ll fight for miracles, though, because losing them would mean losing pieces of me.

I love the way Alice Tribue writes, her books are so consuming, they suck you right in from the moment you start reading.

She has such a way to capture your attention and her synopsis always do it for me.  I never know what to expect when I start reading her books and I always end with such a great feeling when I'm done reading them.

This book really tore my heart apart.  I never expected the things to happen that happened.  A man who is left caring for a newborn baby and he had no idea how to even take care of himself, let alone a newborn child.  He never wanted kids because he knew he couldn't provide a life for the child the way it deserved, but when he gets a dose of reality and realizes that he has to raise a child, he finds himself in a position where he doesn't know what to do, whether keep the baby or give it up for adoption.

When Emilia moves in next door, she finds herself attracted to this man and does everything in her power to help him and his son.  At first he wanted nothing to do with her because he needed to figure out his life first with his child, but little by little Emilia starts breaking his walls.

Once things have become a bit serious for Max and Emilia, he starts finding out things about her that he's not happy about.  He's upset that she keeps things from him.

Emilia's ex-boyfriend is a nut job and tries everything in his power to try and get her to see that he's the one for her.  He even goes as far as harassing and threatening her.

Can Max and Emilia put a stop to this psycho or will he be a threat to them all?

I grew to love Max because in the long run he realized that his love for his son was stronger and he realized that giving him up was not an option.

I loved the story, it was sad, it was romantic and it had a little bit of suspense overall.  I definitely enjoyed it very much and would highly recommend it.

This is the second book I read from this author and can tell you how much I enjoy her books.  I definitely will continue reading them!
