They could’ve been perfect.
In another time. Another world.
Where his wasn’t falling apart.
And hers wasn’t already in pieces.

-
High school senior Holden Eastwood only has one fear in life: growing up.
He spends his days unmotivated, moving from one game to the next, searching for his next challenge.
He never expected that challenge to come in the form of a girl…
A girl with zero fashion sense, a filthy mouth, and a bullsh*t attitude.
Unlike Holden, Jameson Taylor had no choice but to grow up.
Neglected, isolated, and forced to raise herself, Jameson only has one goal in life: graduate and move on.
The last thing she needs is some guy she can’t stand suddenly declaring her as his new hobby.

Their lives couldn’t be more opposite.
Their pasts a complete paradox.
But in each other, they find the unexpected…
They find solace.
Fragments of forever…
A forever that might tear them to pieces.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

I don't even know where to start with what Jay McLean did to me. I shouldn't be surprised- she always shreds my heart- but there was something about Pieces of You that just hit different. The ache in my chest was subtle, until it wasn't.

I really liked Holden. He was a jock and definitely relied on his flirt factor to help him get by, but he also had a very big heart. It showed in his relationship with his mom and Mia (from Leo- which you should totally read if you haven't). He was loyal and gave all he had to those he cared about. But he didn't know what to make of the new girl, Jamie.

I think Jamie was my favorite part of the book. Her strength and pain and growth was truly something to behold. She had this grace to her that came from all the hardship she had endured. The more I learned the more I wanted to reach into the pages and hug her. Her quiet demeanor, old lady clothes, talent and dry wit did something to Holden that he couldn't explain; he just knew he wanted to be near her. But life kept getting in the way.

I knew going in that this was part one of a duet but I still wasn't ready for the way it ended. My heart was beating out of my chest and my jaw was on the floor. I need answers...now dang it!!
