Kenna loses her forever, Derrick, in a tragic plane crash that kills everyone on board—150 people, including the love of her life. People keep calling her lucky, but she feels the opposite. Now she has to move on with her life without Derrick in it and no strategy for getting past this senseless tragedy.

Investigators tip her off that there may be more to the story… behind the crash, the menacing Company that controls people, and even her dead boyfriend.

When someone tries to kill Kenna again in her own home, she is shocked into action and starts to uncover the truth about the corruption and craziness around her, finding herself and her heart again in the process. They say that time heals all wounds. Kenna has a chance to find out if that is really true.

3.5 Star Review by Ashley

Olivia Howe is a new author for me and this is the first book of hers that I've read. It is no secret that I love me a good romantic suspense story and Pretty Bird definitely hit the nail on the head. It was just what I was looking for: fast- paced and equal parts funny and nerve wracking. I hooked from the get go and the main reason was Kenna.

She is pretty spectacular. I mean it isn't everyday that someone survives a plane crash but to learn the love of your life had perished in said crash, talk about starting out with a bang. Then to be thrown into a world full of lies, deceit and danger because of it. On top of that, there is the whole, trying to put the pieces of your life back together again after the whole traumatic experience. I really feel that Kenna's reactions to everything were realistic. I felt her confusion, pain, anger, grief and letting go. I was nervous that with everything she threw herself into to try and get to the bottom of the whole sordid mess that she wouldn't be able to work through her feelings. I was wrong- big time. Of course, it didn't hurt that there was the super sexy Nathan there.

Nathan was the hero that this book needed. He not only let Kenna pursue the perpetrators but he was her sounding board and shoulder to lean on. He was supportive and protective at the same time.Things get really intense and while emotions are high there are somethings that are said and done between Nathan and Kenna that had me cheering. These two aren't lacking in chemistry at all. They fight hard and love harder. That being said, I felt that there were some holes in the development of their relationship. I just wanted a bit more- some connecting outside of the drama.

Olivia Howe packed quite a punch in this book. My emotions were high from page one and I just had to know what would happen. I kept thinking to myself how much more can this girl take? Just when I thought I had something figured out there would be another twist to throw me, and Kenna, off track. Overall, I found Pretty Bird quite enjoyable. And if you like your love stories to start in the most unconventional of ways, then you won't want to miss this one.
