I hadn't even read the synopsis of Jacob Chance's debut novel but I had no need to worry- my friend didn't steer me wrong. This book had elements of suspense, which I love in my romance- and they weren't overdone or too far fetched to be believable. I will say that I found Kyle a bit creepy at first but those feelings quickly went away as I learned more and more about him. WOW! This man is pure alpha with a dirty mouth and the moves to back it up. And I loved his pursuit of Janny- even if he was keeping secrets. I liked her sweet yet sassy side. She is driven and willing to do what it takes to reach the success that she wants for herself. The chemistry between these two is off the charts smokin' but the feelings are even more intense. This book was fast paced and kept me turning the pages until the bitter end. I will say that there were some parts that could've used just a little more but overall, for a debut, Quake was quite solid.
