When the woman you love is lost, how hard will you fight to get her back?

Following the birth of her daughter, Kadence Knight finds herself in a battle she never prepared for. With desperation and unhappiness threatening to overwhelm her, a sense of hopelessness pulls her away from the one thing she has always longed for: a family.

As Nix watches his wife struggle with something he doesn't understand, he can't help but feel disconnected to his woman. The Kadence he once knew has drifted into the darkness. In her place is a shadow of the woman she once was, one who is fearful of the impossible...failing their daughter.

This Valentine’s Day, Nix has one goal — to reclaim the woman who gave him everything.

**Reclaimed is a follow on to Incandescent (Knights Rebels MC #1) and should be read after reading both Incandescent and Affliction.**

The book begins with Kadence announcing to Nix that she is pregnant.  Nix is initially not sure how to feel, but he quickly recovers, and it seems like this happy family is about to be completed.

The book then moves forward 10 months where we realise Kadence is struggling with postpartum depression.  She doesn't want much to do with their new baby, and her relationship with Nix is strained at best.

I have to say that this part of the story will gut you - it is so tragically and heartbreakingly written, it almost feels as if you are the one living through this torment.  Kadence oscillates between wanting to be a good mother and with not being able to cope, and just wanting to shut down and to stay away from the baby.

We see Z step up as big brother, and that was also really sweet to read.  I love how 3 dimensional these characters are - they are like people you know, and whenever I read River's books, I feel like I am connecting with old friends again.

Kadence and Nix's struggles with their relationship in this book make me want to sob my heart out.  We see Nix trying so hard to reach out to his young wife, but she just cannot let him in.  She feels the weight of the world on her shoulders and Nix does not know how to relieve her burden.

"Jesus, Kadence.  The only fuckin' time I touch you is in my sleep.  Don't fuckin' take that from me too.  Don't push me away when I'm hangin' on by a fuckin' thread.  I miss you, baby.  I miss your hands, your smile.  Fuck, I miss your face." - Nix, Reclaimed (A Knights Rebels MC Novella) by River Savage.

"The first step is askin' for help, baby.  Let me help you.  You don't have to be alone.  Let me learn to breathe the ugliness you see.  Let me share the darkness, Kadence.  Just don't push me away."
- Nix, Reclaimed (A Knights Rebels MC Novella) by River Savage.

This novella follows their journey to overcome these obstacles and find their way back to being Nix and Kadence. As the story develops though, we also begin to see signs of cracks in Nix's calm.  He has been trying to shoulder the load for both of them, and there is only so much one man can manage.  As a way to put some romance back into their lives, Nix decides to take Kadence out for a Valentine's dinner that she will never forget.  OMG!  I almost died reading this part, it had me howling with laughter.  Well played River Savage!

Although this is a novella, we get to see snippets of the other characters we have come to know and love, and it is a real treat.  I am so looking forward to Jesse's story, but the book that I really am anticipating with bated breath is Beau's - I think that one is going to be beyond epic!

I am giving Reclaimed 4.5 stars - I loved that it was full of so much torture and heartache.  River Savage certainly knows how to wring every single painful emotion out of you.  She does lighten it up with a good dose of hilarity near the end.  I loved that this book was about real life issues and how they were over come.  A beautifully written story.
