One moment in the spotlight . . .

For months I stood by, an understudy waiting in the wings, preparing for my time to shine.
I never imagined he would watch in the audience that night.
Canon Holt.
Famous film director. Fascinating. Talented. Fine
Before I could catch my breath, everything changed. I went from backstage Broadway to center stage Hollywood.
From being unknown, to my name, Neevah Saint, on everyone’s lips.
Canon casts me in a star-studded Harlem Renaissance biopic, catapulting me into another stratosphere.
But stars shine brightest in the dead of night.
Forbidden attraction, scandal and circumstances beyond my control jeopardize my dream.
Could this one shot—the role of a lifetime, the love of a lifetime—cost me everything?

5 Heart Review by Ashley

I feel like I say this with every book by Kennedy Ryan but Reel truly was a masterpiece. A triumph that weaves history and romance and Hollywood into something I couldn't put down.

I LOVED Neevah. She was so strong, talented, bold and fearless. But also had this vulnerability to her that made her easy to relate to, to be drawn to. Like Canon was the first time he saw her.  That man takes broody artist to a whole new level. Only concerned about the project, the art, the story to be told.

Until Neevah. She became the art, the light and watching him fall, seeing his priorities shift was beauty in motion. It was a decadent slow-burn that had me eager for the moment Canon would let his control slip and it was so worth the wait. But it was more than lust. These two found something in the other that they never thought they would. They found someone who saw them for all that they were, all that they weren't and embraced them head on.

Filled with breath and nuance and soul. Neevah and Canon's romance was powerful, passionate, poignant. The heartbreak, the pain, the longing, the artistry, the music, the joy, the clothing, the joy and fear, the forgiveness, the redemption. The love that jumped off the pages and into my bones. ALL OF IT made me want to crawl into my book and live in this world.
