Dunbar's romance over 40 is better than the last. They're all standalone but the characters all crossover so it adds another layer to the depth of the story. Especially since it was Brut's brother, and his meddling, that led to the unexpected chance of a lifetime. A chance to make up for past mistakes and find the future that he always wanted. I loved and hated the back and forth. All that was said and unsaid between Lily and Brut. How their innermost thoughts were the same. How they longed for the other. How life got in the way. How they wanted more. How they didn't know how to ask for it. How Brut decided enough was enough and he was going after what he wanted. And that was his Lily. Even if he did initially give them a timeline, it went out the window almost as soon as it started. And the 739...holy hot! Those two were electric. Brut and Lily's journey, though full of potholes, craters even, and setbacks proves that it's never too late to go after what you want. Who you want. Especially when it's love on the line. And when that little wonderful yet extremely unexpected surprise lands in their laps, it was the game changer that put everything into perspective. I am a sucker for second-chance romance. And in Restored Dreams where that second chance comes twenty years and a whole lot of life later, well let's just say it was a recipe for something super sweet.
