I was eager to get my eyes on Roman after meeting him in the first book of this series. And Melanie Moreland did not disappoint.

For as powerful and unforgiving as he was, Roman had a soft spot for those he cared about. And Effie brought it to the forefront from the moment he laid his eyes on her. Too bad she didn't want anything to do with him. Until her life depended on it.

I loved seeing his protective and tender side all wrapped into one when it came to keeping Effie safe. And that woman was nothing if not resilient and strong. She had to be with all she endured.

Talk about a whirlwind. These two faced down their demons and fears head on. And on the other side found something they didn't ever think they would, a love that was deep and honest, pure and everlasting.
