Run For Your Honey by Staci Hart

Twelve years ago, my first and only love left town and never came back.

How dare he show up now, looking like that.

And he’s running against me for mayor.

It’s unfair, him standing there, too tall and handsome for his own good. It’s audacious that his clothes accentuate every lean, strong curve of his body. It’s universal BS that his smile makes my heart flipflop, and it’s patently un-freaking-believable that my body would betray me when he turns that gorgeous smile on me.

I’ll do whatever it takes to win, and he knows it.

But when he kisses me, all bets are off.

If I win, he leaves.

If he wins, I lose.

And either way, he breaks my heart.

4 Heart Review by Ashley

If there is one thing Staci Hart can do, it is wrap up a series. And Run For Your Honey is the perfect culmination of the Blum's Bee series with all of the big feelings and hilarious antics.

I adored Poppy and her can-do attitude. How she was willing to take the risk to put her town first. Even when it meant going toe-to-toe with her long lost ex. Oh that Duke. Riding back into town after being away and wanting it all. Not realizing how out of touch he had become.

I loved seeing these two relax and enjoy just being around each other without the pressure of the race and their past mistakes on their heads. But they couldn't avoid the inevitable for long. Because if Duke won, Poppy lost and he didn't know how he could survive her being hurt from his actions again.

I felt like I was holding my breath along with the rest of the town as everything was hanging on by a thread, and I'm not just talking about the race. Whew! I couldn't put Poppy and Duke's small-town, enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance down. It was heartfelt and sexy, hilarious and smart and had me hooked from start to finish.

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life -- a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can't forget that. She's also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She's been a wife, though she's certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She's also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she's been drinking whiskey. When she's not writing, she's reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
